The standard defines the performance values for gloves against cut risks. This standard was recently revised. Under the revised standard, the number of classification levels has increased from five to nine, and the letter “A” was added to indicate the new test method being used.
The testing protocols used within ANSI/ISEA 105-2016 are covered by ASTM F2992/F2992M-15.
The test is similar to the ISO 13997 test of the EN 388:2016+A1:2018 and simulates a one off cut at varying pressures and can be used as an indicator of emergency/accident protection. Only the TDM-100 machine can be used for proceeding the cut test.
